The AiM MyChron5 660 is the go-to data logger for drag racing. The data provided can be used to make fine clutch adjustments which are essential when you want your car to to run fast.
This kit contains sensors to help increase you and your car's performance. A cylinder head temperature thermocouple, and an exhaust gas temperature thermocouple to accurately measure the (EGT), both of these sensors can be fitted to the provided dragster thermocouple split cable. A phonic wheel kit and a speed sensor which connect straight to the rear of the logger.
Also in the kit is a CAN expansion which is used to connect your LCU-One (Lambda Controller) sold separately. The LCU-One will give you full control of your engine and monitors air/fuel ratios.
It is important to install your MyChron5 660 in a place where you and mechanics can see the display while the dragster engine is being worked on. We recommend under the engine ON/OFF switch. Fix a bracket to the vertical bulkhead and then fix the MyChron5 660 to the bracket.
RPM wire needs to be connected to the dragster ON/OFF switch. The switch is in most cases 2 poles (some switches only are a 1 pole). The two poles are RPM and coil. RPM wire should be going to the coil side of the kill switch. Running it to the grounded side of the switch causes the RPM signal to drop in and out and sometimes not to work at all. Being the ON/OFF switch opposite of the bulkhead drill a 0.2” (5mm) hole inside the bulkhead and remember to insert the rubber wire-holder in the hole to protect RPM wire from tears and cuts. The RPM sampling frequency is 50 Hz.
Powering the MyChron5 660 is simple, plugin and charge your battery, when the green light stops flashing it is fully charged.
The MyChron5 660 features a high contrast LCD screen, offering great flexibility and readability while you drive. Choose from 2 configurable RGB backlight colours to suit your requirements. The ambient light sensor switched the backlight ON/OFF according to the ambient light conditions.
Keyboard & Configuration Of Display
The MyChron5 660 has four metal easy to use pushbuttons. This system has been designed to make the configuration of your display as easy as possible. You can configure the LCD set up, drive setup, RPM setup and units of measure. You can check that all sensors and expansions are connected and are in working order, also know the number of recorded test sessions you have completed. Set the date and time and configure your Wi-Fi.
MyChron5 660 is equipped with 4 engine pass counters, which can be configured in the menu.
The MyChron5 660 has 2 RGB LEDs. You can set these to work as a temperature alarm.
After a test session, it is possible to recall sampled data. Check your test sessions, Test Summary, Selected Test values eg: RPM, CHT, EGT, Overdrive. Or view in graph mode.
